In this video we are going to go through how to clean your pets eyes. We would not advise using cotton buds or cotton wool as these can release fibres which can cause more damage to the eyes while you’re cleaning them. For the cleaning products, what we would advise is to use cooled boiled water or you can use a cleaning product from your vet. To clean the eye always wear gloves to stop any contamination from your fingers. And to clean the eye, gently evert the lower lid and sweep gently along that lower lid to remove any debris or discharge. To clean the upper lid, you would use a new cotton swab to prevent any cross-contamination. You would evert the upper lid gently and clean in a soft gentle motion. It’s important not to touch the actual eyeball, but just to clean the lower and upper lids.
