David D. Bryan, M.D. – Ophthalmology

Got my bachelor of science degree in
zoology at LSU University in Baton Rouge. Back then it was called “the ole war school”
and then I got my medical degree at the LSU medical school here in Shreveport
which is now LSU Health Science Center. That is same places where I did my
internship and residency. I chose ophtalmology because
got to see people of all different ages. You got to treat people for medical
illnesses as well as for surgical problems. Cataract surgery, refractive surgery but
also do a fair amount of general ophthalmology. We have active contact
lens practice. We see patients that come and take care of their
general ocular problems and have a relatively active external disease
practice. It’s still a general ophthalmic practice with concentration
in cataract surgery and refractive surgery. I’ve been on the receiving end of
medicine and surgery and so I know how I would like to be treated. I want to be
able to do that for my own patients. I do think that is an important thing
that people need to know. What your priorities are and where patients fit.
and I think patients fit where family does. you
